Everything the day needs, set up for you
A funeral gathers a lot of people, often at the family home. We provide and set up what the day requires so nobody in the family is carrying chairs on the morning of the funeral.
- Tents. White marquee tents to seat the mourners and shelter the service from sun or rain. We size the tent to the crowd you expect.
- Chairs and tables. Seating for the family and guests, and tables for the programme, the register and refreshments.
- PA and sound. A public-address system and speakers so that everyone, inside the tent and at the graveside (emathuneni), can hear the service and the tributes.
- Catering. Arrangements for feeding the mourners, in the numbers your family expects, after the burial.
- Portable toilet. A clean, private facility for the gathering, which matters at a home setup.
Planning the numbers
The most useful thing you can tell us early is roughly how many people you expect. From that we work out the tent size, the number of chairs, and the catering. It is better to plan for a full house than to run short on the day, and we would rather bring a little extra than leave anyone standing.
The days of mourning and the vigil
Mourning does not start on the Saturday. Family and neighbours gather at the home in the days before, and there is often a night vigil before the funeral. We set up at the home for this too, and return to reset for the service itself, so the family is supported through the whole week rather than only on the last day.
At the home, the venue and the graveside
We set up at the home for the mourning and the vigil, and again at the church or hall and the graveside for the service. We arrive early, set up out of the way, and pack down afterwards so the family does not have to think about any of it.
How we help
Tell us how many people you expect and where the service will be, and we bring the right size of everything. If your service is part of a funeral plan, the tent, chairs, table and portable toilet are already included in the scheme.
